Product Truth SLA

When product facts change, keep the business in step.

Define how important product changes are detected, approved, and verified across the channels that depend on them. Layer One helps establish ownership, measurable expectations, and the controls to follow through.

The problem

Changing the source record is only part of the job.

A lead-time change can leave sales quoting yesterday’s promise. An updated document can coexist with an older version on a partner site. We help your team manage the journey from an approved change to confirmed publication, starting with the information and channels that matter most.

This may be your starting point if…

  • Teams cannot tell when a change reached customers or partners.
  • Approval ownership differs by attribute and is poorly documented.
  • Failed updates become visible only after a dispute or exception.
What's included

What we work toward together

Scope is agreed around your priorities, systems, and team. The engagement can include:

An event-to-owner map for agreed product facts and publication destinations.

Detect, Decide, and Publish targets based on risk and actual system constraints.

A scoped validation and alerting approach with evidence of publication.

An exception playbook covering escalation, fallback actions, and review responsibilities.

How it works

How the engagement works

Layer One combines manufacturing and distribution experience with assessments, advisory services, engineering, training, and ongoing improvement. We build on existing systems and proven capabilities, including Commergenix where it fits the work. Your team helps shape the approach and owns the decisions that affect the business.

  1. 1

    Choose the critical facts

Select attributes, products, destinations, and accountable owners.

  2. 2

    Define the controls

Agree timing expectations, approvals, checks, and exception handling.

  3. 3

    Prove the flow

Run a controlled change, measure propagation, and refine the operating process.

FAQ

Questions before you begin

Does SLA mean a blanket guarantee from Layer One?

The program defines measurable operational commitments and responsibilities. Any contractual service levels are agreed separately.

Can we verify distributor updates?

Verification depends on partner access and available evidence. We document those limits and agree the checks each destination supports.

How do we agree the scope and commitment?

We begin with a conversation about the problem, the people involved, and the information available. We then agree deliverables, responsibilities, timing, and commercial terms. The work can be scoped independently or within an ongoing Layer One partnership.
